About the "Gesherim" Leadership Program

The Gesher Leadership Institute offers the “Gesherim” Leadership Course, designed for Israeli opinion leaders in the fields of culture, economy, business, security, academia, and community, who are deeply invested in the social fabric of Israeli society.

The course aims to shape Jewish-Israeli leadership committed to fostering ongoing dialogue and building shared living experiences among different segments of the Jewish people in Israel and the Diaspora.

As part of the course, participants will embark on a deep-dive delegation to a Jewish community abroad.

The course serves as a supportive platform for participants’ initiatives in social, public, business, and educational sectors, promoting connections among diverse segments of society.

Course Structure:

The course includes the following components:

– Seven regular meetings, each lasting six hours, held biweekly.
– A field trip focusing on issues of religion and state.
– A six-day delegation to a Jewish community in the Diaspora* for in-depth meetings with community leaders, central institutions, and leadership hubs.
– Fostering social initiatives.
– A unique network among course participants.

Course Topics Include:

– Jewish Peoplehood.
– Social and Jewish entrepreneurship.
– Encounters between different population groups.
– The Haredi community.
– The Ethiopian-Israeli community.
– The challenge of shared living.
– Israel-Diaspora relations.
– Leadership development and social action.

Participants:

Approximately 20 participants from diverse segments of Israeli society, who have the potential to drive change in Israeli society and influence their respective fields, will form an elite group. They will engage in peer discussions, dialogue, and mutual respect throughout the course.

Admission Process:

The course has an admission process that helps identify the most suitable candidates. It includes completing a personal questionnaire and meeting with the Institute’s management to assess fit.

The course requires a prior commitment to full participation in all activities, as well as involvement in a practical project.

*Participation in the course is free of charge, with the exception of a partial contribution toward airfare.
